Welcome to another edition of Field Notes. In this edition, we’re sharing holiday wishes from our team, information on warehouse closures, and an update from our annual Christmas party in Costa Rica.

With the year coming to a close, we’d like to wish you a happy and healthy holiday season and extend our gratitude to all of our customers for making 2025 a great year at La Minita. It hasn’t been an easy year for the coffee industry, and we appreciate your trust as we’ve navigated the many challenges together.
We are thankful for your continued support and look forward to another great year in 2026!
This Month in Costa Rica
On December 6th we held our annual Christmas party at the farm. This event kicks off the holiday season along with the advancement of the harvest. There were over 50 children from the families of the farm staff present. The attendees enjoyed bouncy houses, a mechanical bull and a musical performer.
La Minita hosted clients from Japan and the USA for the event and both groups gave out small toys and candy to the children in attendance. The heavy rain during the event kept the size of the crowd a little smaller than the years past, but it was a fun event.

We have been cultivating the Geisha variety in La Minita’s Melico lot for several years, and our team is in agreement that this year’s harvest is the best yet. Presenting the complexity and floral profile that the variety is famous for, this is a standout from our 2025 microlot selections.

COLOMBIA, HUILA PALESTINA EXCELSO
This exceptional regional lot, from smallholder producers near the town of Palestina in the Huila department, just arrived at CTI NJ. This coffee has become a staple for many of our customers, with a balanced profile that suits a wide variety of uses.

HOLIDAY CLOSURES FOR CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR’S
La Minita’s office will be closed on Wednesday 12/24, Thursday 12/25, and Thursday 1/1 for the Christmas and New Year’s Day holidays. Our warehouse partners will also be closed for the holiday, which may cause minor delays in shipping during these weeks.
