Back in 1870, the Silva family decided to sow coffee trees in one of the highest summits of the Apaneca-Ilamatepec Mountain Range. They named the 28 hectares of land Siberia, for its chaotic weather conditions and its difficult accessibility. The Silva family processes the coffees from Finca La Siberia in many ways and they are very sweet, clean, and balanced with red fruit and honey flavors.
La Minita has been working with the Silva family and San Cayetano since 2005, but have only brought the coffee in since 2014. Farm History: Santa Emilia Estate has been in the Homberger family for 3 generations and was Rainforest Alliance certified in 2006. Santa Emilia is practicing sustainable farming methods and does not use herbicides on the farm, rather using “Noble Herbs” for soil amendments and to keep weeds at bay. The farm also is promoting social responsibility.
