The Sumatra Lintong Raja Batak comes from selected producers surrounding the town of Lintongnihuta in the Provinsi Sumatera Utara (Northern Sumatra Province). This specific area is located on the southern shores of Lake Toba, which is the largest volcanic lake in the world. The soil around the southern part of the lake is volcanic which leads to exceptional terrain for growing coffee. Raja Batak is a premium Peaberry selection and is very limited in its availability.

Boru Batak

The flow of coffee is very unique in Sumatra as compared to other origins and in the region where we produce this coffee, women are the backbone of the coffee business and make all of the quality and buying decisions. Boru means the link to the maternal line of the family and we thought that we should pay homage to them with naming this coffee Boru Batak.

Mutu Batak

The Mutu Batak is a name descriptive of the quality of the Batak people.  It is produced in the Lintongnihuta on the southern shores of Lake Toba and is another completely sun-dried and triple-picked coffee.  This high quality preparation with the heavy body that is characteristic of the region. It has great acidity for Sumatra, loads of clean and rich tobacco flavor, and a long lingering sweet butterscotch finish.

Suku Batak

Our Suku Batak is yet another completely sun-dried coffee, also grown around Lake Toba in the Lintongnihuta area to the south and Seribu Dolok area to the ease.  It is a double picked preparation with a little wider classification. This consistently clean coffee has a heavy-bodied with mellow acidity and flavors of fresh earth, leather, peat moss and herbal nuances.
